19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks his first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to win a title is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive play style and recurring reactions on court had led commentators to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional championship, gained dominance to create a third set.

He rescued four initial opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
